Who I am
I started my professional life in the corporate world, managing a call center. While it provided stability, I often felt confined and disconnected from the natural world. Everything changed when I moved to Enfield, Nova Scotia and had the opportunity to remove some trees from my property. Witnessing the skill and dedication required for tree removal captivated me. The first time I started a chainsaw, I experienced a profound sense of purpose and excitement that I had never felt in my previous job.
This epiphany led me to pursue tree removal as a full-time career. I dedicated countless hours to learning the intricacies of the trade: from the safe felling of trees to advanced climbing techniques. I invested in high-quality equipment, enabling me to handle chipping and hauling independently. Operating as a one-man crew has its challenges, but the autonomy and direct impact of my work are immensely satisfying.
What I love most about this profession is the combination of physical exertion, problem-solving, and being immersed in nature. Each tree presents a unique challenge, requiring careful planning and execution. The satisfaction of completing a job well done, knowing that I've contributed to the safety and aesthetics of a property, is unparalleled.
Beyond the work itself, my goals are to achieve personal freedom and to provide my daughter with a life filled with adventure and discovery. Now, I can take her to explore the beautiful trails of Scantic River State Park or enjoy a picnic at Brainard Park, sharing with her the wonders of nature that I've come to appreciate through my work. I want her to see that it's possible to follow one's passion and to find joy in meaningful work.
I am thankful for this transformative journey and for the support that has helped me along the way.
